This book is still very much in the works. We’re getting initial reviews now (pretty good by the way). We want ensure that we dot all of the I’s and cross all of the T’s before giving the world our baby.

Option 1 – Novice
Click Start
Navigate to the Startup Menu
Right Click the shortcut you want to remove
Click Delete
Click Delete Shortcut

Option 2 – Intermediate
Click the Start Button
Click Run
In the Open Field, Type “msconfig” and Click OK
Click the Startup Tab
Deselect the programs you want to remove from startup
Click Apply
Click OK

Windows Vista

Option 1 – Novice
Click Start
Click All Programs
Click the Startup Folder
Right Click shortcut you want to remove
Click Delete

Log into Vista with Administrative privileges
Click Start
Click Administrative Tools
Click System Configuration
Click the Startup Tab
Deselect the programs you want to remove from startup
Click Apply
Click OK

Mac

Novice
Click on the Apple Menu
Click System Preferences
Click Accounts
Click Login Items
Click the Lock Icon (Lower-Left Corner)
Enter your user administrator password
Select the applications you want to remove from startup
Under the application list, Click the “-” button

Ubuntu

Intermediate
Click Applications
Navigate to the Accessories Menu
Click Terminal
Type sudo apt-get install rcconf and approve download
Type rcconf
Using the arrow keys and the spacebar, Deselect the programs you want to remove from startup
Press Tab to select OK or CANCEL
Press Enter
